Any person asking for a home assistant  in his/her main or second home can claim a tax deduction corresponding to 50% of the total amount under the limit set by the financial legislation. The current spending limit is 12 000 euros (out of additional charges) that is a maximum reduction of
6 000 euros.
This reduction is of course proportional to your net income tax. If your income tax is lower than your reduction your will not have to pay  income tax but the difference does not imply a tax refund.
If your income tax is higher than your reduction, only the maximum amount of 6 000 euros will be taken into account.

Fiscal ceiling :
  • 12 000 € for a family without children
  • 13 500 € for a family with one child
  • 15 000 € for a family with 2 children or more.

Tax Credit

Tax Credit is a State help to enable families who are not liable to tax to benefit from home care services.

Tax Credit is only possible for the income tax of 2007 to declare in 2008. The fiscal benefit will take the form of a tax credit on income equal to 50% of the spendings done between January 1st 2007 and 31st December 2007.

In order to benefit from these fiscal advantages you have to tick the 7 DF box on page 4 of your revenue declaration.

Don't forget to provide the certificate indicating the amount of your expenses that Power & Co will send you.

etoiles-petites The Employment Cheque (CESU)
Since 1st January 2006, vouchers and employment cheques are replaced by the CESU whose objective is to pay home services in order to encourage the development of this sector of activity.

It is used in particular for child care and babysitting through Home Care Centres.
The Employment Cheque is a cheque book bought by employers and given to their employees with a possible co-financing.

Advantages for the employer :
The amount paid for the cheques makes it possible for the employer to be exempt from paying employers' contributions up to 1 830 \ per year and per salaried. This amount is deducted from his taxable profit.

The CESU entitles to a tax credit of 25% of spending (maximum credit 500 000€ per year).

Fiscal Advantages for the employee :
The employee' s participation to the CESU :

gives right to a tax reduction of 50 % within the fiscal rules limits. It is exempt from social security contributions and of  CSG (General Welfare Contribution) – RDS (Public Debt Repayment), and is not recorded in the income tax.
Other helps can be added such as (PAJE, AGED, AFEAMA...)

The default payment method is bank transfer. Any other means of payment will entail monthly costs of 5% of the total amount. Members who have chosen CESU *see box , as means of payment, will have to transmit a returnable deposit and two packages in advance to Power & Co because the processing and payment of these vouchers by the CRT ( Centre of Discount Vouchers) are done 1.5 month after the vouchers' reception.

Ask your employer if he is affiliated to the Centrale de Règlement des Titres (CRT).
